Monday extremophile blogging: Tardigrades ("Water Bears")

Cute, no? These creatures can withstand the vacuum of space and suspend their metabolism for up to ten years. They can also survive being heated to 150deg. C or being frozen to near absolute zero. And they are multicellular organisms! Much tougher than you are.

  1. Hahaha, that's so cool. Water bears. Actually, I think my professor Jean-Paul Gagnon is tougher than a water bear. Hahaha...Jean-Paul Gagnon doesn't sleep, he waits. Jean-Paul Gagnon's arms are what hold the universe together, lol. Jean-Paul Gagnon doesn't give lectures, he smashes you in the face with knowledge kicks, hahaha. Sorry, we've come up with too many of these things. Truly, water bear is awesome and this blog is great.

I'm just passing through, satisfying my curiosity about Water Bears, but feel compelled to stop and say "what the fuck?" to Anonymous. My curiosity has now been piqued as to what kind of person does apparently random drive-by's like that. Trying to hurt a stranger simply because he can. I have too much free time on my hands at the moment, so I'll spend it speculating: I'm thinking this person is male, and actually very young. Young because dumping on people anonymously may still be a novelty to him, but young mostly because it's apparently so random, like a kid who couldn't wait to use that phrase, "sick in my mouth" on someone, and to wipe a smile off of Vanessa's face so that, for a moment, she may feel just as sad as Anonymous.
